Q1_Aircraft: Access doors and panels was created by davedrosen
Does anyone have suggestions for access door installation. I need to
put one up front to access an oil tank for my engine, this would be
a small one to get access to the filler/level spout. A cessna like
access would be good. The other one I'm considering would be behind
the rear wing so I could access the rudder bellcrank I added and to
access the aileron control rods etc. I'm interested in fastners
people have used and fiberglass techniques used to mount hinges etc.
Can I put fasteners right through the fiberglass or should I put
something in there or a metal piece over and under the fiberglass
where the fastner will compress on to? What about attaching hinges?
Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm also interested in techniques for post cureing the whole
airplane. I've heard of mixing charcoal (crushed) and powdered milk
being painted on and putting the airplane in the sun while
monitoring the temp. Any insite on this would also be appreciated.

PS Should receive what should be my last gallon of EZ poxy today.
Thanks,
Dave R.
