Got a couple more milestones ticked off. The first: Got my N
number 'N4YQ'. Tough to get the number I wanted, with the odd rules
for N numbers, Some friends call me yankee, so this is as good as I
could get. The second: I post cured my Q. With the Texas temp.
hitting a sporty 106 degrees, I figured I'd put the plane in the sun
and cook it. 150 was easy to get in the direct sun. I checked temp
with an infared surface temp meter to keep the temp from getting too
high. I then washed the plane and put it back into the workshop. I
used a farm jack and wood to lift the plane off of the canard,
balancing it on the motot mount and tail wheel==I didn't want the
canard to deform. The epoxy never got soft, that I could tell. I
think it got partially cured just being in my metal building, during
the summer. Still awaiting my engine. Every week I'm told within two
weeks.... any day now. When I get the engine's serial number I will
register it. I will be doing some filling today, and of course some
sanding.... put it on.....sand it off.

Cheers,
Dave R.
