Q1_Aircraft: new pictures was created by lmc72blz
Hello Ryan and group,

I have finally uploaded a couple pictures of my project. It shows my
half VW install, however I have decided to go with a full VW instead
and move my firewall back 4'. As you can see by the photos I have
alot of work to do. The plane was built in 1980 an needs a new paint
job and some cosmetic TLC, but the overall structure appears to be
built very well. It weighed in at 291 with the original Onan, I hope
to be at 400 with the VW. I hope to get some work done this winter if
I can get my garage heated up warm enough.

Gary,

My Q1 weighed 299# with the Onan and weighed 365# with the 4cyl. VW
engine.
I needed 25 pounds of ballast for W&B so I installed a battery of
that weight and also a starter and flywheel for a flying weight of
424#.
I moved my firewall back 3' so as to leave leg room for my rudder
pedals for comfort.

The power of the full VW will make up for the extra weight penalty
with better performance.
