Stan,
Nothing to be sorry about - I was looking for a second project and still don't
have my 1st done.
Where are you at in CA ? There seems to be a lot of DF/Q in Chino. Have you
tried the Q-List or dragonfly page ? There appear to be a lot in CA and someone
may be coming this way for the fly-in - may be able to get a few guys to help
get it there. I bought my project from VA and paid a guy name Andy Hadden to
deliver it (took about 2 weeks). He does it for a living and depending on size
and loads he has in the area charges $1 - $1.50 / loaded mile. I thought the
price was high at 1st but when I looked at renting a trailer and gas - he was
actually cheaper.
He advertises on barnstormers.com where his future trips will be trying to make
sure he is always full and sharing costs. I may still have his number if you are
interested. With the fly in in the near future, There may be enough people from
varied places that it may be possible to get it close reasonably. Most guys on
the groups are great about helping where possible and the fees range from free
to damn expensive so be careful.

What HP is the engine? I would be interested in data as it develops on your
engine. I have a C90 on my project (custom built DF).

Good Luck,
Tad

Tad,
Sorry about buying your bird, I'd been looking for a long time, Gary seemed like
a good guy so I snapped it up unseen. I'm putting a little 84 inch 4 banger
together for it (looks like a mini 0-200 ) we think we can get close to 100
miles to the gallon if we can fly it in the stratosphere.
My big problem is getting the damn thing here. Please let me know if you know of
anyone driving anywhere out west,I'd buy gas.
Keep in touch
Regards, Stan

Stan,
I live about 90 minutes from there and tried to buy it twice and was told it was
sold to a guy from CA (2nd time). Just curious. I never did get to see it, both
times I arranged something I called on my way over there and was told it was no
longer available. Sounds like youe are steering away from the Kawasaki engine.
Are you heading towords the MW anytime ? There is a flyin in Sept in MO for the
Dfly group are you heading this way then ?

I'm in Southern Ca , near Newport Beach
I was building my Express at Chino and know a few of the guys out there. I also
finished my long-EZ out there and know all those guys.
I think my little engine will make about 48 hp about the size of an old C-40 but
it was built in 1987/
