I'd like to here from Q-1 drivers that have other then Onans. If you
have a VW, 1/2 VW, or any other direct drive 4 stroke in the 30 to 70
HP range I'd really like to know about your prop.Diamiter-pitch,
static rpm, full power rpm @ some alt. and if you know your SAE HP
would all be a great help. If you have modified your ground clearence
let me know. If you have a prop spare let me know.Data data?????
Thanks all, Stan

Stan,

I'm going to use a hexadyne P60, 60 horse engine. It will turn the
prop at 2300 rpm. The Prop centerline is 2' higher than the onan
centerline. I am interested in the prop size everyone else is using.
I've noticed others are using up to a 52' prop with the rotax. I'm
wondering how much higher the prop centerline on these installations
is above the onan. I should be able to use at least a 48' prop. I am
going to put the firewall perpendicular to the floor and then measure
the distance to the ground, subtract 9' and try that. It seems that is
the recommended clearance.
I'd also like to hear props others are using and their clearance
values and relative mounting as compared to the onan location.
Thanks
Dave R.

Dave,

Do you have the small original or large main tires option?

Ryan,
I'm not sure what was supplied with the original kit, but my
tires are 10.5 ' diameter. I'd be interested in knowing how this compare
to the originals. Where does your prop sit relative to the original?
What size are you using?
Thanks,
Dave R.
