Recommendations before buying an older kit

I am a new member, and I am looking at purchasing an older Q-200 kit that I have found. I am looking for some guidance as to what to look for when inspecting a kit from the 1980's.

I am a first time homebuilder with above average mechanical, electrical, wood-working, and plans-reading skills... but no composite materials knowledge or experience outside of surfboard repair.

What should I look for in a used kit? Are there any additional concerns as far as the age of the materials and how they need to be prepped for bonding/painting? Will I most likely be discarding all the foam in the kit and buying new foam?

Any responses appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,
I'm a new member as well. Ant updates on your project? I'm also looking for a kit as well.
