Tri Q Landing Gear

Hi, I am just starting to help my friend, Joe, build his Tri Q. We have filled and sanded the gear and just finished cutting the strips. Does anyone have any advice on how to suspend the gear to apply the fiberglass stips, or any observations that might help us out? Thanks! Michelle - extreme kit plane newbie in Colorado
