Monroe NC

It is southeast edge of Chralotte NC.

Plenty of lodging nearby as well as an airport that enjoys having people out there.

Some of the aera EAA members might be willing to help organize some things as they have a fairly good social group

Do it at Rough River with the other Canards. Next year is their 25th Ann. They are expecting a record number of all canards. Mon, Oct 4, 2010

The trick is going to be to find someone that has the time and resouurces to organize the event. Some where in the Plains states would be good as a meeting point between the 2 coasts. Sat, Oct 2, 2010

I'll go whereever the weather allows me. 2010 was a bust. Don't make any of the Q events, even though I was gassed up and packed to go. WX sucks. Fri, Oct 1, 2010

no, just like to have another fly-in near the West Coast. I'm kinda of thinking NM or AZ (generally good weather, especially in the Fall.)

I am not particular. Closer is better which certainly does not work out for everyone (never make everyone happy). Life often gets in the way and prevents attendance no matter how much desire there is.... Fri, Oct 1, 2010

Possibly, Decorah, Sam Hoskins' home field, but Beatrice has been so good in the past, sure don't mind a bit staying there; we have all we need really close by, and the airport is outstanding.

Great if the organizer could arrange for a group discount like at Beatrice or Livermore, so that most of the whole bunch can be at the same location, for lobby chats at the end of the evening, breakfast together, etc.; and to help with a discounted price too. Not necessarily reserving a whole block of rooms, but making a discount available for any attending. Beatrice and Livermore worked out great! Fri, Oct 1, 2010

A hotel like the New Victorian was perfect, nice room, not overly frilly, but at a reasonable price. Even Motel 6 would work for me, i don't spend too much time in the room on Fly-in's anyway, just there to sleep... time is better spent at the airport, or talking with our friends in the lobby.
