My QAC supplied fuel valve is mounted on the bottom of the header tank. Last month the o-ring seal on the fuel switch failed and gas started dripping onto the canard. QAC plans call for extra thick epoxy on the canard below the header tank and I had also installed a "dam" that does not allow fuel to run down the length of the canard but forces it to the rear and out a hole in the bottom of the aircraft.
The valve has a large nut that has an o-ring seal around the shaft. It lasted 20 years and 1000 hours before leaking. We may want to consider putting this item on a 10 year replacement cycle for the o-ring.
