This video discusses the installation of the Elevator Center Hinge. They built a 34° guage to ensure that they would get full elevator travel when the hinge was finally installed. On a side note there is also a subliminal Pepsi ad in this clip. (You were probably wondering why you suddenly had a craving for it after watching this.)
