Q-talk 97 - Fuel Tank Debris

Be careful when you cut into your fuel tanks. When I cut a hole in the main tank for a fuel level sender, I was very careful to collect all die dust and debris I generated with the Dremel. I really tiiought I got all of the bits of foam and fiberglass I could.

When I was done. I changed the filter between the main and header tanks. The left filter in the photo shows the junk found in that new filter after only 1 hour of running the engine on the ground. The right filter in die picture shows what the filter caught after anotiier 5 hours of flying. Keep an eye on those filters after working on your tanks and make sine to run the engine on die ground before you go flying.
